Are You on Autopilot?

Are You on Autopilot?

My colleague Alex describes something so many leaders experience: “It’s like spinning a wheel. You wake up, you work, you go to bed, you wake up, you work—doing things on autopilot.”

When we’re on autopilot, we’re not pausing to reflect. We’re not asking: Is this really where I’m thriving? Am I building my energy—or just depleting it?

I see things through a lens of possibility—what’s possible for each of us. And autopilot? It’s the anti-possible. You might be doing a good job, but that’s different from meeting your full potential.

Here’s what helps: recognizing and understanding your strengths. Strengths give us language for what can feel complicated. They help us articulate who we are at our best, so we can understand what thriving looks like for ourselves as leaders.

In this conversation with Alex, we explore the difference between going through the motions and leading from a place of energy and possibility. ✨
